UNDER THE TREE
“We are under the Tree.
The Tree has been cut down. We are still under The Tree.
We are on Darug Land.
We are in Lebanon, in Sudan. We are in Palestine, in Iraq.
We are still on Darug Land.
We are inhabiting all these places simultaneously in the diasporic realm.

‘Under The Tree’, Granville Town Hall, December 2019.
The audience moved with us through the spaces we had come to know intimately over two years. Performance stories made within Granville Town Hall, each scenario an unpredictable and immersive experience, culminating in music and song outside under the moon, near the absent tree and a single blue light.
Under The Tree was the culmination of the Making Spaces program, in partnership with Cumberland Council. Funding from Create NSW and Cumberland Council.
With First Nations Educator John Hunter, Zainab Kadhim, Paula Abood, Maissa Alameddine, Marian Abboud, Ghasan Saaid, Hazem Shammas, Eddie Abd, Hassan Izeldin; and Dandana: Maestro Mohammed Lelo, Hussein Kahil, Alissar Gazal, Fethi Rabhi, Mostafa Tayyar and Rami Al Saad.
